First new pop-up 'Science Gallery Lab' will open in Detroit this autumn

Science Gallery International has launched its first new pop-up Science Gallery Lab, in partnership with Michigan State University. Acting as a bridge between Detroit and the Michigan State University campus, Science Gallery Lab Detroit will open its doors to the public in autumn 2017.

The Science Gallery Labs are a new addition to the Global Science Gallery Network, which has venues in cities around the world including Dublin, London, Melbourne, Bengaluru and Venice. Each Lab will be a three-year long community-led programme featuring participative experiences aimed at inspiring and engaging 15-25 year olds, and will blend art, science, and technology to create content and conversations of interest to local young people.

Science Gallery International was established in 2012 with the support of Google.org and the aim of creating the world’s first university-linked network dedicated to public engagement with science and art.
