HOOKED - NOW EXTENDED UNTIL 27 JAN 2019
The Londonist described our opening as ‘Christmas come early’ and being the generous folk that we are, here at SGL, we’ve got an early Christmas present for you!
The HOOKED exhibition is being extended until 27 January 2019, so you have an extra three weeks to check it out! As always, the exhibition is free, and with January being a time that sees many worn-out purse strings, HOOKED will be around a little longer for you to get your cultural fix without depleting any more of your bank balance.
Or if you're after some non-seasonal fun before you get into the full swing of Christmas shopping, why not pop into our last Friday Late of the year and take a ride on the Recovery Rollercoaster on 16 November.
Don’t miss out on your chance to delve into the complex world of addiction and recovery, and question what makes us as humans vulnerable to addiction and consider the underlying factors and routes to recovery.
Hear leading voices on the science of addiction from King’s College London, including researchers from the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience (IoPPN), interwoven into video installations, interactive artworks and immersive experiences featured within the exhibition.
Developed in association with people who have a lived experience of addiction, HOOKED showcases works by established and up-and-coming artists and photographers from across the globe, including Rachel Maclean’s Feed Me; photographs from Olivia Locher’s Another Day on Earth series; Richard Billingham’s Tony Smoking Backwards, Playstation and Jason Chopping; Melanie Manchot’s Twelve and Joachim Koester’s The Hashish Club.
