SPARE PARTS explores the art, science, ethics and technology of human repair and alteration.
Can ‘spare parts’ exist outside the biological body? Are our bodies a sum of independent parts that are regenerated, enhanced, donated or altered?
Research from King’s College London are interwoven into the installations, artworks and experiences featured within the season.
From couture tissue engineering and growing your own replacement body parts, to personal stories of organ transplantation, discover what the future of medical engineering might mean for us all in the near future.
Make sure to drop into The Gut, an interactive space at the heart of the exhibition, where you can get hands-on with the themes of the exhibition, grafting cacti, 3D printing a mini-organ and even hand-sewing electrodes to contribute to a live research project.
