The core team consists of: Stephani Hatch (PI), Charlotte Woodhead (PI), Ali Hossaini (PI), Lucy Ensum (Coordinator), Farah Ahmed (Research Assistant), Nathan Stanley (Research Assistant and Policy lead), Sophia Bonner(Coordinator), Rebecca Rhead (Research Fellow - project co-ordinator) partner organisations.

“We are striving for equitable organisation that catalyses social progress by example as well as activity” - Health and Social Equity Collective

How did the collective come together? The Health and Social Equity Collective came together when members of existing organisations, notably HERON and Black Thrive decided that a network of organisations would be more effective in addressing their aims by bringing a diverse range of approaches, personalities and resources to bear on health & social inequity.

What does the Health and Social Equity Collective aim to acheive in this residency?

Using their collaboration and collective activities they aim to:

  1. Generate a more inclusive knowledge base and make it translatable to individuals, communities, and policymakers' awareness

  2. Tackle entrenched inequalities in education, training, and capacity-building

  3. Redistribute power by working in partnership with communities affected by health inequities.
