What is the Young Leaders Programme?

Science Gallery London Young Leaders, 2017-2018

Some of the most powerful work is made by people whose voices are less present in the mainstream. To ensure we represent the thoughts and opinions of our audiences, the Young Leaders shape the Gallery and guide its work through consultation and creative thinking. This group, made up of 15-25 year old people who live, work or study in the boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth, represent the incredible talent and diversity of London and are passionate about bringing new voices to the fore.

The initial Young Leaders group curated and ran a weekend festival for Science Gallery London in September 2018, and continue to help design and curate future programming. As part of the programme, the Young Leaders develop their skills and professional networks, receive 1:1 mentoring and receive training on skills such as curating, marketing, leadership and public speaking.
