Science Gallery London partners with London Data Week to explore open and participatory approaches to AI

How can we as Londoners help create better pathways for meaningful public participation in AI? Do we need better data documentation for transparency, and new methods for public engagement?

Ahead of London Data Week, join us at Science Gallery London for a conversation about building better AI in the open.

Featuring Margaret Mitchell (Chief Ethics Scientist at HuggingFace), Lara Groves (Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute), artist and machine learning design researcher Caroline Sinders; and curator Irini Papadimitriou (FutureEverything), we look at the barriers that the community has encountered in practice around open and participatory approaches to AI, and explore opportunities to work together to address shared questions.

Doors will open at 5.30pm when you'll have the chance to explore Science Gallery London's new exhibition AI: Who's Looking After Me? before the talks begin at 6.30pm.

This event is developed in partnership between London Data Week and Science Gallery London. It is part of the gallery’s new season AI: Who’s Looking After Me? presented in collaboration with FutureEverything.
